Patent Leather Scars is a 2009 dramatic short film written by Yusef Miller and directed by Bart Capuano. It stars Lizan Mitchell, who plays a mother who commits suicide after her son did the same. She is brought into the spirit world to reconnect with her troubled child. The plot brings to the forefront several issues in contemporary philosophy of mind, such as the nature of self and consciousness, the mind-body dichotomy, and sensory perception.
